NAMM 2017 in less than 2 weeks!
What will NAMM 2017 bring? We hope lots of cool gear, software, and other things. There have been a lot of rumors all over the Internet about what may be coming.
Here’s Our Wish List (not in any order):
- Roland Boutique TR-08 and Roland to release more Plug-Out synths like JX-3P or even the ability to run all the existing Plug-Out synths on the System 8
- Akai to reissue standalone MPC with options for 60, 3000 mode sounds (want it fat and dirty? put some of the sounds on a kit in MPC 60 mode; want some color? put some of the sounds on the same kit in MPC 3000 mode, and the rest in modern mode), oh and make sure there will be SD card slot and USB ports
- Alesis releasing a following to the Andromeda A6 with better parts and stability, especially the oscillator tuning
- Rossum Electro Assimil8or as we can’t wait to play with the CV scrub mode to see if we create waveforms to emulate scratching using Make Noise Maths or 4ms Quad Pingable LFO (though we are very excited about the 1010 music BitBox)
- Universal Audio Apollo Twin Quad with updated AD/DA converters and 4 DSPs or even an Apollo Quad Squared that has 4 Unison Mic Pres and 4 DSPs that sits on the desktop
- Ableton Live 10
- MOTU Digital Performer 10
- Dave Smith Instruments revival of the Sequential Circuits Studio 440 with analog Oscillators and Filters with full sampling capability
- Eventide H9000 with hardware remote and plugin control with a DB25 ins and outs to be able patch into Hardware Inserts for ProTools HD and Digital Performer
- Yamaha pure Analog and FM (8-op with DX compatibility) synth but not in the Reface form factor
- Korg MonoPoly revival or a Korg ARP 2600
I’m sure there are plenty more we can come up with especially on the Eurorack, Guitar, Bass, Drums, and recording outboard gear.
We’ll see if any of these on our Wish List comes true.
Can’t wait to see the new products at NAMM!
